SPECIAL GAMES EDITION – DAY 2

“God did not give us a spirit of fear”

READ
1 Peter 5:6-7
REFLECT
We are meant to be powerful today.  But there is one thing that often stands in our way.  It is not an opponent.  It is not the weather or the workout.  It is our fear.  Fear has sidelined us too many times in life.  Fear of failure, fear of rejection, and even fear of success, can keep us from being who God called us to be.
The Bible gives us the formula for confronting our fears.  We do not overcome fear by ignoring it or muscling through it.  We eliminate fear by pushing it out with a stronger presence.  “Where God’s love is, there is no fear, because God’s perfect love takes away fear.” (‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:18‬).
F.E.A.R. can be equated to “false evidence appearing real.”  When we remember the truth of God’s love for us in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ we are able to overcome the false evidence in our fears.  Look through the cross and be powerful today!
AthleteWords OF THE DAY
1- “I was in trouble, so I called to the Lord for help. The Lord answered and made me free. The Lord is with me, so I will not be afraid. No one on earth can do anything to harm me. The Lord is my helper.” – Psalm 118:5-7
2- ‭‭“I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.” – Psalm‬ ‭121
3- “Do not fear, only believe” – Jesus (Mark 5:36)
