What is CrossFit KADA:
CrossFit KADA is husband and wife owned by KD and Darin Kaiser. Our family owned & operated gym, and inviting CrossFit community, means monthly activities outside of the workout, healthy potluck parties and relationships you won’t find at work or the regular gym.  We strive to transform the members of our family physically, mentally and emotionally both in and outside the gym.

CrossFit KADA opened in October of 2013 and serves the South Denver area. Athletes from Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Centennial and Englewood find CrossFit KADA to be their top choice for a fitness facility and gym.

What is the story behind CF KADA and why you started it?
After having been active in sports our whole lives, and being active in CrossFit for a couple years, we had felt called to positively impact the community around us by using our passion for wellness. Only 6 months after being married, we talked about moving away from Breckenridge and changing careers.
Because we are both very passionate about CrossFit and helping others, we started to pray that God would speak to us about where he wanted us to go. Little did we know that we wouldn’t hear much from God for nearly 6 months.

We continued to pray diligently for his guidance, often referring to our dream of owning an affiliate as “CrossFit Project”, but were starting to feel that it might just no be His will for our lives. But in His timing, things changed at both of our jobs and lot’s of critical elements for opening an affiliate fell into place. In July of 2013, we signed a lease and the gym was opening by the end of September.
We have always looked at the gym as our mission field and the main driving force behind opening was to use CF to bridge the gap between physical/emotional health and spiritual health. That continues to drive us today.

Is there a life verse or verses you live by?
KD: Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”
An amazing verse to live by not just personally but also for our young family and our gym family.

Darin: 2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

How did you come to know the Lord?
In High School, KD was invited to youth group with friends when she was 16. It wasn’t long after that she realized there was something missing from her life. While she had been raised to be a good person and was taught how to love others, she knew there was something more. She accepted Jesus into her heart that year.

When I was 5 years old, my older brother and sister sat me down after church on our back porch. It was one of those fire and brimstone kinda talks, probably not the most appropriate approach for a 5 year old. However, afterwards, my parents sat down with me and asked if I knew what they were talking about and if I understood that Jesus died for my sins.  I said I understood and that I wanted Jesus in my heart because of what he had done for me.

What has your relationship with Him been like?
KD, now a wife, mother of 2, and business owner finds that God is prevalent in so many walks of her life. Owning a business with your spouse is exciting and at times trying, but letting God to step into every situation and guide the plans has offered the best opportunities to lean on Him.
There are times where kids are throwing tantrums, little hands are fighting over the goldfish snacks, the dog is acting like a crazy person and the house is an obvious disaster, but remembering that “God’s got me” has been an amazing reminder every day.
Growing up in the Church my whole life and coming to know the Lord I always struggled with not knowing what it felt like to be different. Trust me I’ve made my fair share of mistakes and still struggle with temptations everyday. However the older I get the more I realize that my walk with the Lord is in many ways similar to fitness.
Yes, we need to make the decision to choose Christ as our Savior like making a choice to have fitness be apart of our lives. But it doesn’t stop there, it needs to be a consistent part of our lifestyle so that we can continue to mature and grow.
Just like a new athlete at our gym struggles to be consistent with healthy lifestyle choices day to day, I’ve found that to be in some way parallel to my relationship. Now as a parent, spouse and business owner I feel it is even more important that my pursuit of the Lord be consistent day to day so I can fulfill His calling for my life in every way.

How has it impacted the way you view business?
Having a servant heart is something we strive for every day. We run a business but we also run a ministry. Sharing the gospel daily and speaking life into others is incredibly important and we know we wouldn’t be where we are today without the guidance from God and those around us who support us in every step.
We feel strongly that the gym really is God’s and we are just it’s stewards. We have an important role in managing what God has gifted us to continue to bridge the gap between physical/mental/emotional well being and spiritual well being.

Why did you decide to join Allied Affiliates?
We had been active participants in local chapter meetings for about a year prior and wanted to be part of something bigger and give back to an organization that we feel very passionate about.
Darin had actually known of CrossFit Faith and had followed their devotionals when he first started CrossFit too. We felt as Christ followers and christian business owners it is imperative that we use our gifts and talents to further His kingdom and this was a no-brainer.

What does it mean to unite Faith & Fitness?
For us it’s about using a passion in our lives to help build relationships and create opportunities to talk about our faith. We have never promoted our affiliate as a
Christian CrossFit gym, but I can’t count the times people have told us that it didn’t take long for the to figure out what we’re all about. It’s amazing what happens when you get out of the way of God and let him work through you.
