We’ve got your daily encouragement, written by Matt Chow.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
What does it take to become a world class CrossFit athlete these days? I think if you asked any successful athlete about the key to their success, they would state that discipline is the number one thing on the list. To achieve greatness in the sport of CrossFit, it takes more than just working out in the gym. In addition, the top level athletes track everything that goes into the body, the amount of sleep they get down to the second, hours at the gym, etc.
Beyond just CrossFit, discipline is instrumental in our relationship with God as well. To achieve a full relationship with God and be in tune with his direction for our lives. It’s not enough to just go to church on Sundays. The book of Joshua says, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night…”
Anyone can attend a church service on Sunday, but the real discipline and transformation begins by knowing the truth. You can only know the truth by staying in his Word and knowing what his Word says. When we know His Word, we can begin to apply it to our daily lives, which leads to a real relationship with our loving Father.
Heavenly Father, thank you for Your Word. I pray that in the coming weeks and months that I may read and learn Your Word, so that I can be transformed from the inside out. I desire to know you better each day and it’s in your almighty name that I pray, AMEN.
Begin reading the Bible on your own and get to know what it says. An easy way to start is Proverbs and reading a chapter a day. Or, find a reading plan that takes you through the Bible in a year.
