We’ve got your daily encouragement, written by Travis Pate.

Bible Reading:

Deuteronomy 20:2-4

2 And when you draw near to the battle, the priest shall come forward and speak to the people 3 and shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, today you are drawing near for battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint. Do not fear or panic or be in dread of them, 4 for the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’

Word:

Have you ever took at peak at tomorrow’s WOD and the stars lined up for you? The only way it could’ve been better was if you put it together yourself! It has your all of your favorite movements and there’s absolutely no way that you aren’t going to crush it! This is the type of confidence and courage that we should strive for when we walk with God.

Once we learn to trust and obey Him, we understand that He’s got us covered. God’s plans never fail! (Say that out loud!) The plans that we have fall away but God’s will is always going to be accomplished. Our struggle is learning to faithfully obey Him.

Hebrews 11 is full of names that had the courage to obey. Abraham was told to go but he didn’t know where he was going. Noah was told to build a big boat in the middle of dry land. The list goes on! As our relationship with God grows, our trust in Him taking care of us grows. When we trust Him, we can move forward with courage, knowing that the battle is His and He’s already declared victory!

Prayer:

God, help me to learn to trust you. The Bible tells us that your commands will be accomplished. Help me to have the courage to do whatever it is that you ask me to do. I know that you will always take care of me. Amen.

Skillwork:

Ask yourself, what are you holding onto that would prevent you from saying yes to God’s call?
