We’ve got your daily encouragement, written by Joe Mummert.

Bible Reading:

‭‭Hebrews 10:36
For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.

Word:

I think if you have been an adult for more than 5 minutes you know what it feels like to reap the rewards of persevering… and you also know the heartbreak and defeat of not pushing through the tough times! Whether it be business, spiritual, mind, body, or anything else in life, when we align with the will of God and persevere, we KNOW that we have a great reward waiting for us, even if it isn’t immediately obvious.

There have been many times in my walk that I got to the end of a task, trial, or a season and had someone else tell me how much they were encouraged by watching me push through. They may not know the entire story, they don’t get to see the “behind the scenes” but they see what mattered to them…perseverance. The truth is that we may never know who our audience is or who we could be effecting, both positively and negatively at times.

We must always rely on God to strengthen us when we are weak and constantly stay in tune with His Holy Spirit to know we are aligning with His will. Everything else after that, may not be easy… but will be worth it! As a parent I can’t tell you the overwhelming emotions I have felt when I have watched my kids persevere through a tough time… especially if they consulted with me and followed my advice! Just imagine how happy it must make our heavenly father when we do the same!

Prayer:

Lord, it’s super tempting for me to get caught up in how things are right now. Help me keep my eyes focused on you and the heavenly reward that is waiting for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Skillwork:

Take some time to be still today. 5, 10, maybe 15 minutes. Be aware of where your mind goes and the things you focus on. As you feel checklists or anxiety come in, instead, pray, out loud, “Father, help me to discern your will, and then do it.” You may find yourself repeating it the entire time. But that’s okay.
