For those who have never done CrossFit, the workout at first can be intimidating. Some newcomers arrive, can’t get a movement down immediately, and believe it isn’t for them.
But dedicated newcomers learn the movements and figure things out. Because they keep pushing themselves, they gain the confidence they need to do things effectively and thrive.
1. Was there ever a time where you didn’t believe you would finish the workout?
Competitors believe in themselves and that they have what it takes.
Luke 8:13 tells us what happens when we don’t have good roots. “Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.”
Scripture tells us they believe for a while. So why is that? Because they aren’t following Jesus for the right reasons.
In Matthew, we learn, “Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
God is telling us that his kingdom is affiliated the greatest blessings we can receive, and that when we go outside of that, we are helping to build the kingdom of today’s world, which isn’t his.
We already believe. So we must strengthen our commitment to Jesus if we want to help build his kingdom.
