Spiritually destructive behavior degrades us as believers. When we fill our minds with immoral things or are dishonest with ourselves and our loved ones, we weaken our spiritual armor and make it easier for the devil to tempt us.
Today’s culture encourages us to indulge our desires and avoid accountability. But as Christ’s followers, we know this is not the way to true happiness. We become enslaved and lose our freedom when we give in to sin.
In difficult times, giving up and falling into sin can be tempting. But this is when we need to cling to God the most. He is our source of strength and hope, and He will help us to overcome temptation.
If we struggle with spiritually destructive behavior, we should not be afraid to ask for help. Many resources are available to us, such as our church community, Christian counselors, and books and articles on spiritual growth.
We must remember that we are not alone in this fight. The devil is real, but so is God. With God’s help, we can overcome any temptation and live a life that is pleasing to Him.
The Devil is like a thief, but God is like a doorkeeper. When the thief of temptation tries to steal our joy and peace, we can lock the door to our hearts with prayer, and God will keep the thief out.
Psalm 18:30 tells us, “”As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.” He doesn’t want us to degrade our spirituality. He wants us to take refuge in Him and find our strength and peace. This is what God does for us in all of his love and majesty.
