When we are fervent for God, it’s like a windmill spinning tirelessly in the breeze, maintaining a perpetual spiritual fire within us. This fiery passion transforms us from the inside out and possesses the remarkable potential to radiate goodness and impact countless lives.
Passivity is not an option for believers on this spirited journey. We must live out our beliefs, even when the path seems arduous. Every sacrifice made along the way is an investment that yields immeasurable worth. If we find elements in our lives that do not welcome Christ’s presence, we must mend those aspects and recommit ourselves to Him and His divine mission. Nothing in the world surpasses the importance of this dedication.
To be fervent is to sacrifice willingly. If elements in your life dilute your relationship with the Lord, it is high time to eliminate them. Replace these distractions with endeavors that draw your soul nearer to Christ.
When we are fervent, we continually seek Christ’s guidance. It doesn’t mean we pray over every trivial detail, for that would render our prayers meaningless and less impactful, much like the windmill’s ceaseless motion does not fret over every gust of wind. Instead, it signifies that we frequently turn to His counsel, cherishing and treasuring our profound relationship with the Divine.
To be fervent also implies actively engaging in the work of God. As expressed in 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” This verse serves as a powerful reminder that when we dedicate ourselves to God’s work, we are participating in an occupation that offers rewards far surpassing any worldly endeavors.
It’s crucial to bear in mind that while our service in God’s work may not yield tangible salary increases or material bonuses, the unseen and eternal outcomes far outweigh any earthly gains.
