Galatians 6:10

REFLECT

Every day, amid the chaos and turmoil of life, small yet powerful acts of kindness are happening all around us. Kindness offers calm in that chaos.

As Christians, we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this world, to love those around us just as He loved us. And one of the most powerful ways we can do this is by spreading kindness to others.

Every day, we have opportunities to extend kindness. It could be as simple as offering a smile to a stranger or taking the time to listen to a friend going through a difficult time. It could be offering to help a neighbor with yard work or bringing a meal to a needy family. These small acts of kindness may seem insignificant, but they significantly impact others. In addition, reaching out to those in need and exhibiting Christ-like kindness can bring about a profound transformation within us.

Jesus, Himself often demonstrated this kind of kindness in His ministry. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and reached out to the marginalized and the outcast. He showed us that love and compassion are not just nice things but essential parts of our Christian walk.

Remember the powerful story of the lepers who met the Lord between Samaria and Galilee? Despite the social stigma that surrounded them, Jesus showed them His love and healed their disease.

Luke 6:38 amplifies the importance of kindness by revealing the ripple effect it can have. “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Kindness has the power to heal the deepest wounds and restore hope to the brokenhearted, for when we extend love to others, we are fulfilling the commandment of Christ to love our neighbors as ourselves.
