Competitors are mighty warriors for God. On the spiritual battlefield, they slay demons and protect others from injuries and attacks.
They wear the Breastplate of Righteousness, setting an example for others. They swing the Sword of the Spirit with their might and strength at God’s foes. On their head is the Helmet of Salvation, keeping their mind focused on Jesus. The Belt of Truth helps them see things as they are, not as modern culture sees them. And when the Devil launches his flame-tipped arrows, the Shield of Faith is used to stop their assault.
1. How do become mighty warriors for Jesus?
We look at what Scripture tells us about those who follow Christ. They walk in the light and not the darkness. John 8:12 says, “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
We when we embrace His light, we are able to fight for Him. There is no better team to be on than the one where Jesus is the Commander. Isaiah 41:10 tells us what we can expect when we fight for His army. “I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” How awesome is that? To be strengthen by the world as we stand for His truth and righteousness. That’s how we really become mighty.
We must be mighty for Jesus. So that when the Devil targets us, we have the power to thwart his constant attacks. Now Onward Christian soldier. Go fight for God!
