When a warrior goes on a mission, the stakes are high. They must perform at the highest level, or they can compromise themselves and their teammates. Warriors know their enemy is prepared, looking for any vulnerability they can exploit to gain the upper hand on the battlefield. But their enemies don’t know that the warriors stay prepared even if things don’t go exactly according to plan.
This mindset is about focusing on the mission. It doesn’t just apply to warriors but to high-performing individuals in general. In their professional life, they go above and beyond expectations and always have a plan if things fall through. With their families, they honor their roles as spouses and are more than committed to building Christ-centered families. In their hobbies and passions, they stick with it, improving frequently, and don’t give up when things get challenging. Whatever their mission is, they fulfill it and hit their objectives.
But what about our mission as believers? Do we do what it takes to fulfill those spiritual goals?
God asks us to help build His kingdom here. That isn’t a tiny task. It encompasses much more than listening to sermons, praying, and reading His Word.
As Christians, we are supposed to live the Gospel. That means we can’t only act like disciples on Sunday, but we must be disciples daily. It means that we don’t just read His Word to check off a box but read His Word to be nourished by it. We don’t pray out of obligation, either. We pray because we love the Lord with all our heart and soul and want nothing more than a deeper relationship with The Divine.
So, let us be more mission-focused in all ways and execute to the best of our ability, knowing that because we are focused on the spiritual-first, everything else will fall into place according to His Will.
