Galatians 6:9

REFLECT

Competitors learn to master their momentum. During the workout, they move as seamlessly as possible without draining too much fuel.

They know that if they come in too hot, they won’t have the energy or power to perform at a high level. If someone tells a competitor to stop, they refuse. No matter how difficult something is, quitting isn’t in their vocabulary.

1. Have you ever come in too hot for the workout?

But we need to talk about a different type of energy: spiritual momentum. We master spiritual momentum when we read Scripture, pray, and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Spiritual momentum means that when we share His gospel with one person, we don’t see that as enough. Because we have such energy for Christ, we make it a point to spread HIs message to as many nonbelievers as possible. In addition, we don’t just read our Bible one time. We read it whenever we have the opportunity to and cling to the heavenly truths within its pages. As we do these things, our enthusiasm for Christ becomes stronger.

However, when we lose spiritual momentum, we become easier targets for the Devil and his army. He doesn’t want us to have divine energy. Instead, he wants drained mentally and spiritually, so that he is able to attack us in our most vulnerable state. But we have the power to tell him no, choose Jesus, and push back with the power that comes from mastering spiritual momentum.

Remember what it says in Philippians, “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” All things. Not one or two. And He always fulfills his end of the deal.
