Bible Reading:
1 Peter 3:15
“…but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect…’”
Word:
We are already one month into the New Year. The presents are all opened and the decorations are all put up (for most of us, at least)! The question that I want to ask today is, “Are you sharing the Good News?”
Just a month ago we heard the story about the angel appearing to the shepherds. “An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.’” We celebrated the birth of the Savior of the world! How many people have you shared this wonderful news with?
The people around you are looking for answers. They are searching high and low for things like joy, peace, and love. They are putting their trust in everything but the the one thing that can meet their every need. They are hurting and lost and they need for you to tell them the Good News!
Prayer:
Dear God, thank you so much for the best gift ever, your son Jesus Christ, who came to die for my sins. Thank you for loving me. I pray that you will help me to love others and share the Good News that was shared with me. Amen.
Skillwork:
Pray that God will give you the opportunity to share the Good News with one person over the next week. Expect the opportunity and go for it!
