1 Corinthians 10:31

REFLECT

When an Olympic athlete steps onto one of the most revered stages in the world, their commitment to excellence is made clear by being one of the select few to represent their country. Years of relentless training have brought them to this defining moment, and their determination to achieve greatness sets them apart.

These competitors refuse to be held back by any obstacle, striving to outperform athletes from other nations and proudly represent their homeland. Their journey to this pinnacle of success took time. There was blood, sweat, and tears to reach this point. Yet, they toiled tirelessly day after day, even in moments of doubt, in their relentless pursuit of striving for excellence.

As Christians, we strive to do God’s work on earth. 1 Corinthians 15:58 reads, “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

But what does it mean to do God’s work? Doing God’s work means you are relentless in living your life with Jesus. That means we make Him the center of our universe. By doing that, we are able to make better choices and walk a more righteous path.

Of course, we will always stumble. But what matters is that we learn from those mistakes and continue to improve, even if that improvement is just little by little. Because as we strive to do His Will, he will lift us up in those trying times, and we will feel His comfort and love. We cannot do it alone. He is the spiritual strength that we need always.
