1 Corinthians 15:33

REFLECT

Every day, we are exposed to unseen forces that seek to pull us away from God’s love and divine plan. These unseen forces are determined to undermine us, sow seeds of self-doubt, and weaken our faith in Christ by attempting to bring us down and make us doubt our inherent greatness.

When we stand firm in our faith, the unseen forces have less power. However, when we give in to their lies, we risk becoming entangled in their spiritually deadly web of deceit.

Joshua 1:9 reminds us that we can be courageous against the evil that is out in the world. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

We can repeat this verse of Scripture as a source of strength whenever we feel bombarded by The Devil and his unseen forces. Isaiah 40:29 tells us how God can give us strength when we feel weak. The verse tells us, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”

1. Can you think of a time where you felt weak and the Lord gave you strength?

There is a repeat theme in the Bible, showing how God gives power to those who choose to keep fighting, even when it feels like the odds are heavily against them. This pattern showcases God’s faithfulness in empowering His people. One example of this theme can be found in Isaiah 40:31, “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

RESPOND

1. Write down one way you can improve your strength when unseen forces attack you.

2. Commit Isaiah 40:31 to memory.
