1 Corinthians 1:4-5

REFLECT

What do you value the most if you think about your life now? Is it a nice car, a big house, and a well-paying job? Or do you find the most value from God, your family, friends, and fellowshipping others?

The Bible is clear about what we should value as believers. Whenever someone tried to buy their way into heaven, Christ explained that true wealth comes from His Word. The real value comes from our spiritual side of life, where we may not see all the results of what we do, but God keeps track of it all.

Much of today’s culture constantly emphasizes that value comes from popularity. A person’s reputation on social media is determined by how many people like, engage with, or follow their content. This online popularity contest is spiritually dangerous, as it numbs people to worship other Gods. These Gods come from an obsession with social media and instant gratification.

Do you know someone who is addicted to the God of Social Media? If so, how has it impacted how they behave and live?

We need to value His Word and mission and help others see the grand importance of these things. As we do, more happiness and peace will enter our lives because we are fulfilling spiritual objectives that are eternally significant.

But we must understand that as we do God’s work and bring value to His world, Satan will try harder than ever to lure and deceive us. The reason is that those working for The Lord’s interests threaten him. The Devil knows that he cannot do anything to stop that work other than attempting to tempt or discourage us. And when we stand by Jesus, it’s easier to thwart The Evil One’s attacks because we are doing what is truly right.
