There are wars and conflicts all around us. Most recently, we’ve seen them in Ukraine and Israel. War has been and will continue to be a constant throughout history. But the most important war we fight is the one to conquer the Devil.
Each day, we have to prepare to confront the Devil’s forces. As warriors for Jesus, we are constantly engaging the enemy on a spiritual battlefield. In this warzone, the dynamics are changing all the time and depend on how we live out our Christian faith.
When we are reading His Word, praying, serving others, and building his kingdom, the battlefield doesn’t feel as intimidating. That’s because we have armed ourselves with divine protection, and Satan cannot penetrate such defenses.
However, when we deviate and choose to turn from The Lord, our armor is a lot easier to pierce, and the Devil’s forces have the upper hand. We can only expect victories on the spiritual battlefield if we put in the effort needed in this war between Good and Evil.
We learn from Scripture that we wrestle not against flesh and blood.
Ephesians says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
Let us fight this war with devotion to the Lord. Let us not be lured by the wiles of the Devil. As we do these things, the battle will become more manageable, and we can help rally souls to Christ.
