This month we sat down with Ryan Weachter, the Head Coach/Part Owner of @heartandsoulcrossfit. He shares the story of why he and some of his buddies opened their box and how they have made Jesus their business foundation. What makes Heart and Soul CrossFit different?
It’s a CrossFit gym built on faith, with family, and for ALL people! We love everything about CrossFit and believe we are blessed to have the opportunity to show Jesus and faith to our members.
What is the story behind your box and why you started it?
We wanted to show God to everyone through fitness, and we felt called to provide CrossFit to people who had never done it before.
What is your favorite member story?
One about our member named Jordan. The young man lives close to the gym and he found us within the first week we opened. His eyes lit up and He was so happy to have a place close to his house and a place to transform his life. He has had a tough life and we are able to provide the best hour of his day for him, everyday.
Do you have a life verse, or verse that you live by?
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with All your Heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
How did you come to know the Lord?
When I met my father in law (before my wife and I were married). He is a pastor at a local church that I had attended for awhile. I decided to ask questions about everything about the Bible. One day, we talked for a whole afternoon before I opened my heart and gave my life to the lord.
What has your relationship with Him been like?
Life changing. When fully committed to faith in Jesus, anything is possible. When days get tough and you pray and ask for his guidance, it’s amazing. Jesus is everything to me now.
How has it impacted the way you view business?
Before knowing Jesus it’s easy to make the decision that bests serves you and your business, but when you have Jesus first and in your life, you make all decisions in business and in life for others rather than a self-decision to better me.
Why did you decide to join Allied Affiliates?
We love to see the work in all the affiliates and having faith before everything. It’s great to see others have the same views as we do. It’s a honor to join.
What does it mean to unite Faith and Fitness?
Everything! The two biggest things in our daily lifestyle. Faith is everything and to be able to bring fitness together with faith is amazing. It’s a blessing only Jesus has allowed us to do. We are lucky to be able to have this opportunity to have faith and fitness together.
