Peace is something we all desire – in our relationships, in our world, and in our own hearts. It is what we seek, but what does it really mean? And, how is it attained? Biblical peace is defined as “the tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and content with its earthly lot, of whatsoever sort that is” (Thayer).
So, our quest for peace is really a desire to be safe with our God. It is a state of contentment that only comes from knowing how we stand with our God. This week’s passage teaches the only true pathway to peace and contentment is through Christ. “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6)

“But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace.“ (Psalm 37:11-ESV)
In my athletics I am at peace with Him I feel I can glorify Him there at my best. I need work in every part of my life even more I feel I am still lacking. I pray and crave for God even more so!

Thank you, that faith is not an emotion I need to work up inside of me.
Instead, it’s a gift you give to me as I commit myself to you
Help me to grow in faith amen.
As I read Romans 5:3-5… it reminded me of even yesterday our WOD that we did. It was as much about perseverance… that persevering through temporary ‘suffering’ builds more perseverance… which builds character in my life for the hard times… which gives me hope and hope gives me peace during times of suffering.
Yes, I feel at peace with God because of what Christ has done for me. One of the areas in my life where I still wrestle to find peace is my lack of confidence in my future and the path that I am supposed to walk. This area of my life has also helped me in seeking peace with God. By reading his word and spending time talking to him, I have found relief and a sense of peace that he will make his way clear to me in time.
He watches over us always.
Romans 5:10 ends the search for peace for me. If God is willing to sacrifice his only son for me when my back was turned to him, there’s no getter peace than the promise of how great he is and will be to me now that I run to him. Thank You Jesus for a love that never ends and know no bounds!
I do feel peace with God and I know that he loves me for who I am. One are where I am lacking “earthly peace” is with friends. I tend to be very guarded around people and that is not a good thing…I am working on that. I am convicted by the third question as I have yet to give the friendship issue to God as I am still holding on to it.
