1 Corinthians 10:31

Neglecting our well-being can lead to burnout and physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion. Burnout can manifest as a loss of motivation, self-doubt, increased stress, and a desire to give up. Burnout can result from various factors, including overwork, unrealistic expectations, and a lack of balance in life.

To prevent burnout, we must take care of our physical and mental health. This includes getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and finding ways to relax and de-stress. Setting realistic goals and balancing our work and personal lives is also essential.

Burnout can exact a toll on our physical and mental health, serving as a potent poison. We must be vigilant, steering clear of situations that could precipitate burnout’s unwelcome intrusion into our lives.

As competitors, we aim to burn with the intensity of a roaring fire rather than dwindling into a feeble flame. Nurturing this inner fire demands that we tend to it diligently and in the right manner.

In Philippians 3:13-14, Paul gives us a roadmap for success. He says, “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Here Paul is telling us that he focuses on Christ first, and as a result he knows that God is in his corner.

When burnout comes into our lives, it can be challenging to follow Paul’s advice to “not be weary in well doing.” When we’re exhausted and overwhelmed, it’s easy to become selfish and lose sight of the bigger picture. But it’s important to remember that Jesus Christ is always with us, and He is the one who gives us the strength to keep going. When we put Him at the center of our lives and our work, we can experience His joy and peace, which will keep our inner flame going strong.

1. Write down one way you can avoid burnout.

2. Commit Philippians 3:13-14 to memory.
