We’ve got your daily encouragement, written by Matt Chow.
Bible Reading:
Deuteronomy 31:7
“Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance.“
Word:
I recall when I first found out about FAITH RXD and I thought it was a great way to merge both Fitness and Faith together. I really wanted to be a part of a FAITH RXD chapter, but there were no chapters in my area. I tried talking my friend Joe into starting a local chapter, but he already had his own ministry that he was leading. I just didn’t have the courage to led anything on my own.
When I look up the definition of courage it says “The ability to do something that frightens one.” I have never led anything before and the thought of leading anything really frightened me. I turn to the story of Moses before Joshua goes into the Promise Land. In Deuteronomy 1:38, the Bible says “Joshua, the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall enter there; encourage him, for he will cause Israel to inherit it.” Leading a local chapter for FAITH RXD wasn’t Joe’s calling, but that didn’t mean he could encourage me to do it.
In Deuteronomy 31:7, Moses encourages Joshua and says “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance.” It was his encouragement along with several others that gave me the courage to start a local chapter of FAITH RXD. I can say now that if I wasn’t leading the chapter, my faith would not have grown as much as it has over the past year.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I pray that I have the courage to pursue what you have called me to with my life. Help me be a light of encouragement for others around me as well. In your name I pray, AMEN.
