Bible Reading:
1 Corinthians 13:12
“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.”
Word:
Did you know that we have only explored about 5% of the ocean. Did you also know that scientist have concluded that the universe keeps expanding? So there is never a reaching the end of it. In CrossFit, we have pushed the boundaries of human performance and keep finding there is more within each of us. So we haven’t even found our own human limits yet.
What if I told you, none of that matters! Why? Because it pales in comparison to our understanding of who God is. We have discovered only 5% of the ocean that we can make a trip and splash around in today. But we haven’t even discovered a percent of a percent of a percent of the love God has for us. We’ve merely splashed around in an ocean of his infinite love.
Scripture says “For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known” (1 Corinthians 13:12 NIV). What if today we choose to pursue understanding more of that love? What if it would become our leading pursuit?
1 John 4:8 says, “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” A pursuit of God is a pursuit of love. Which means a pursuit of love is a pursuit of God. We spend billions of dollars on space exploration. We spend millions in ocean exploration. How much of ourselves have we given to really chase after God’s heart?
Prayer:
Jesus, reveal more of the reality of your love to me. To not only read about your love or talk about your love; but, today help me to experience your love in a most powerful way. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Skillwork:
Today sit in the realization that your Gods love for you is infinite. Though our capacity to experience the fullness of God’s love for us is limited while here in this earth, there is an ocean of it to splash around in. Choose today to look at all of your life, relationships and circumstances through the lens of his endless love. See if that lens tells you a different story then what you have been believing.
