“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.”

This verse is in the middle of a chapter about a great celebration. The Ark of the Covenant, a sacred space, is being brought to the tent that David has made for it. Everyone is coming together with God in their midst to give thanks and feast.
How great is it when things come together? Our loved ones are scattered, our thoughts are everywhere, our time is spread thin and we have little time to focus in on one thing. Thanksgiving comes and all of a sudden, we are gathered together, loved ones are near, work and obligations are on hold and we feast.
We recently did a whole month focused on ENDURANCE, which is a foundational characteristic of a follower of Jesus and of God himself. From creation God has showed His love for us by continually seeking our hearts even when we are lost and pushing Him away.
Knowing how undaunted and unwavering God’s love is for us and what He went through to save us should make us the people with the most GRATITUDE in the world.
We continue this month with a focus on GRATITUDE. Gratitude is defined as: the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
Return Kindness. He has endured for us, to win our hearts. If we are truly grateful we will be ready to return that love to those around us. His enduring love is truly a reason to gather and feast!
Prayer:
Thank You God for pursuing my heart with such endurance. May I pursue the hearts of those around us the same way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
