We’ve got your daily encouragement, written by Nate Hemphill.

Bible Reading:

13 Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, 14 knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. 15 For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.”
2 Corinthians 4:13-15

Word:

Are you someone who really struggles with feelings of inadequacy in every important area of your life? You can’t help but feel like you just can’t get ahead; can’t seem to finish any important project; feeling like you are falling short as a worker, spouse, parent etc? Allow me to encourage you today to shift your focus to the most vital role you’ll ever play on this side of Heaven! As a believer and follower of Christ you are connected in the greatest narrative ever written! God’s story of his own creation rebelling against him, and his master plan to redeem a broken relationship with us through the life and sacrifice of his own son Jesus.

Wherever you were when you entered into a relationship with Christ, a decision was made that changed everything. Even if in this moment you feel that you haven’t done much with the very gospel that saved you, the mark of Christ has joined you to his mission and calling. You are now a useful tool in God’s belt. You have a special background, knowledge, and history that is distinct and unique! You’ve been crafted and forged with purpose. What is that purpose? How is God going to make use of you?

As today’s scripture says, “So that grace, having spread to more and more people, will cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.” You are called to be a spark that causes the flame of God’s grace to spread. You are called to be the spark in your home by praying over your family and setting a Godly example. You can be a spark in your gym by loving and encouraging people – breaking down barbells and cleaning up workstations. Be a spark in your workplace by refusing to be negative and pessimistic when given new goals and assignments. There are limitless opportunities for you to be a part of spreading God’s grace. Even when you fail to do it right, God grace is sufficient for you too. Get ready for the next opportunity to get it right. Allow Christ to shine through!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus thank you for calling me son/daughter! Thank you that the story doesn’t end with me…that the same grace that saved me is still spreading. Help me to be a spark in that flame. In the Name of Jesus, Amen!

Skillwork:

Think about a few small and specific ways that you can make yourself more useful to spreading God’s love. Give special attention to the roles and relationships that mean the most to you. Ask God to shine through in every interaction.
