We’ve got your daily encouragement, written by Polly Barcol.
Bible Reading:
“‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
Romans 15:13
Word:
Did you know God is able to fill you with hope even when you are in a hopeless situation? A hopeless addiction? A hopeless marriage? Dealing with a hopeless child? Anything hopeless is an opportunity to find out how hope full Christ is!
We often focus on what we don’t have rather than focusing on what we do have. And YOU HAVE CHRIST! If you are a Christ Follower today, Jesus lives in you, and He is hope! If you are not a Christ Follower, He is just one prayer away from being Hope in you!
Not only do you have Christ, but you have an eternal home. We have hope in our real home that is free from pain, fear, mourning, sin, etc. Considering eternity, our lives are just a blink of the eye. Here and gone. Not even worth comparing! (Romans 8:18).
The key in our verse today is that we trust God even when things look hopeless. We trust that Hope is in it with us, in us. We trust this is temporary considering eternity. We trust that God is always working for our good. We trust that our emotion of hopelessness can transform into joy and peace as we set our minds on our trustworthy HOPE, GOD HIMSELF.
Prayer:
Lord, may I fix my eyes on You and eternity knowing I have HOPE whether I feel like it or not. In Jesus Name, amen!
Skillwork:
Ask Jesus to show you how He is your HOPE today. Then, listen.
