REFLECT

Sometimes we may feel like we don’t want to do the workout. This mindset could be for a number of reasons or justifications.

  1. Have you felt like this recently?

But we do the workout anyway because we understand the benefits of being consistent. We know that maintaining our bodies is critical for our happiness and health.

In those harder times, we need to shift our mindset and remember that we can handle it. Once we think more positively, we can get through things easier and the mental weight doesn’t feel as heavy. This is a benefit of enduring the difficulty.

In James 1:3, we are taught that “testing our faith” produces perseverance. Perseverance is crucial in life, as we have no idea when something might go wrong.

Additionally, we need to remember that when we are struggling to maintain our spiritual health, we can reach out to God for help.

Psalm 40:2 reads, “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”

RESPOND

  1. Write down two ways to maintain your spiritual health in 2023.
  2. Commit Psalm 40:2 to memory.
