We’ve got your daily encouragement, written by Andrea Johnson.

Bible Reading:

“Now may God, the fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope!”

Romans 8:13

Word:

We can endure because God has a plan!

Since the fall of man, God has always had a plan to redeem all of His people to Him. God is not slack concerning His promises. We may view a delay in an answered prayer or deliverance as if God is not in the details and does not care about us. The truth is that God has a plan! Plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and hope. (Jeremiah 29:11) Often we are so caught up in the struggle that we lose sight of the promise.

We allow the enemy to distract us from the promise of peace and well-being, a future, and hope. Paul doesn’t want us to forget how powerful our God really is and how strategic his plans are for all humanity. In his letter to the Romans, he says, “For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope and overflow with confidence in His promises” (Romans 15:4).

The way we can tap into this overflow of confidence and hope is to trust in our Creator. We can not rely on our insight or understanding. But, through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can have this hope, this confident expectation or anticipation (not just wishful thinking) that joy and peace are ours no matter what! It is through this intimate knowledge of God and His Word that we can endure, knowing that He will lead us wherever we go.

Prayer:

Lord, I admit there are times when I view my problems as more significant than your grace. Help me see You as the mighty strategic Creator You are and my problems as stepping stones to a place of peace and joy! AMEN.

Skillwork:

If you find yourself in the middle of doubt, ask the Holy Spirit to surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope! Ask this believing and trusting that God is well able to fulfill every promise!
